White's Produce
Come browse through all the fresh produce and other goodies. October's Fall Festival includes a five-acre cornfield maze with almost two miles of pathways with wagon rides to the pumpkin patch, pony rides, a farm animal corral, hot dogs, apple cider, caramel apples and much more! Located on the corner of Arnold Lane and Jacksonville Highway.

Hanley Farm
Archaeological evidence shows that Native Americans occupied this site at least 2,100 years ago. Hanley Farm dates from 1852, when pioneers David Clinton and Archibald Welton filed a donation land claim. In 1857 Michael Hanley and his wife, Martha, bought the farm from the original settlers. The Hanleys raised their large family on the farm, while acquiring other tracts of land elsewhere thus building an agricultural empire.

Peter Britt Music Festival
The Northwest's premiere outdoor music and performing arts festival presents world-class jazz, fold, country, pop, and classical artists, along with dance, comedy, and musical theater. The festival runs June-September. Located two blocks from downtown Jacksonville.

Jacksonville - Historic Sites
Jacksonville was the first place gold was discovered in Oregon, and is one of only 11 towns in the United States named as a National Historic Landmark. There are more than 100 historic homes and buildings in Jacksonville. Interesting shops, distinctive restaurants, comfortable lodging, two historically acclaimed museums and well preserved cemetery, as well as miles of interpretive hiking trails draw visitors year round. Seasonal historic trolley tours and the Britt Music Festival enhance a summer visit.

Valley View Winery
Established first in the 1850's, Valley View Winery produces a variety of wines which will please every palate. The Anna Maria label, which represents the finest wines we make, is available in only the best vintages. The Valley View label represents premium quality wines at very affordable prices.

Applegate River
The Applegate River originates and flows through the Applegate Ranger District. Anadromous fish species such as silver and chinook salmon and steelhead, spawn and are reared in the Applegate River before making their way to the ocean via the Rogue River. Wildlife such as deer, turkey, occasional elk, and black bear, make their home along the river and within the forest lands and meadows of the district.

McKee Covered Bridge
The rustic, well-known covered bridge spanning the Applegate River, just eight miles from the California border, was built in 1917 by contractor Jason Hartman and his son Wesley on land donated by Aldelbert "Deb" McKee.

Applegate Lake
Ten miles up the Applegate River from the Star Ranger Station is the Applegate Dam and 988 acre reservoir, Applegate Lake. Construction was begun by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1976 and completed in 1980. It is the second of three multi-purpose water resource projects authorized for the Rogue Basin. The reservoir provides irrigation and flood protection for the lower Applegate Valley and enhances the fishery through maintaining higher and cooler water levels in the lower river. The lake extends to the California border and a hiking trail follows the 18 mile shoreline.
